The Cross Lane House is set in a building dating back to 1545 which has certain elements from the 12th century. It is located in the village of Allerford in the wonderfully picturesque Exmoor National Park. The hotel has free private parking and free Wi-Fi in public areas.
Rooms at the Cross Lane are spacious and some come with beamed ceilings. They all come equipped with a flat-screen TV, luxury toiletries from Cowshed as well as a large en suite bathroom. Each room has a window seat and views of the garden.
The restaurant at the hotel caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner, some of the vegetables and herbs are grown at the hotel, other produce is sourced locally. A traditional afternoon tea of scones and West Country clotted cream can be arranged, as well as a picnic basket.
The hotel lies just off of the A39 which runs along the top of Exmoor. The M5 motorway is just over an hour away. The village of Allerford is home to the historic Packhorse Bridge, a rare example of early building craftsmanship which was built over 500 years ago.
